Barbera d'Asti DOCG 2021 Garesio
Description
Garesio's Barbera d'Asti was born in Monferrato, in the province of Asti. In 2010 the Garesio family bought 20 hectares which they dedicated to viticulture, divided between Serralunga d'Alba, Incisa Scapaccino and Castelnuovo Calcea in Monferrato and Perletto in Alta Langa.
The wine is made up exclusively of Barbera grapes, vinified with maceration on the skins at a low temperature for approx. 14 days, with daily pumping over and initial délestage. The wine then ages in 50 hl Austrian oak barrels for 2 months.
Purple-red in colour, the nose reveals a bouquet of vinous aromas and berries. The sip is fresh and powerful, fairly structured, with a savory finish.
The wine goes very well with cured meats and grilled red meats.
