Description
Barbera Piani is produced by the Pelissero winery, which for generations has been producing wine in Treiso, a small village in the Barbaresco area. The family manages 42 hectares of vineyards with native grapes such as Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Barbera. The wine takes its name from the area where the Barbera vineyard is located.
Once harvested, the grapes are macerated in steel tanks for 15-20 days. The wine obtained ages for 8-9 months in oak barrels, of which 30-40% in barriques, the rest in 50 hl barrels. Finally it rests in the bottle for 2 months.
Intense ruby red in colour, the nose is dominated by fruity hints of plum and blackberry and spicy notes. The sip is fresh and sapid and of excellent persistence.
It goes excellently with rich appetizers of cured meats, stewed red meats and aged cheeses.
