Description

Barbaresco Vanotu is produced by the Pelissero winery, which for generations has been producing wine in Treiso, a small village in the Barbaresco area. The family manages 42 hectares of vineyards with native grapes such as Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and Barbera. "Vanotu" is the Piedmontese diminutive of the name "Giovanni", the former owner of this vineyard.

Once harvested, the grapes are vinified in steel tanks, to then be aged for 20-22 months in barriques (80% of which are new), followed by 9 months in the bottle.

Ruby red in colour, the nose is dominated by hints of raspberry and cherry, in addition to notes of aromatic herbs and vanilla. The sip is structured, ample, with sweet tannins and a long finish.

It goes excellently with important risottos, braised meats and aged cheeses.
