Description
Michele Chiarlo's Barbaresco Reyna rises in the rows of the Barbaresco vineyards, characterized by a soil of bluish-gray clay-limestone marl, and Treiso, which is more sandy.
It is produced entirely from Nebbiolo bunches, which are harvested exclusively by hand. The must ferments in steel tanks for 17-18 days, with maceration in contact with the skins. Once the malolactic fermentation is over, the wine ages for at least 2 years, of which 18 months in large barrels.
It is characterized by a bright garnet red color. The nose gives a complex and elegant bouquet, with ethereal notes and small red fruits, enriched with hints of rose petals and tea leaves. On the palate it is noble and balanced, with fine tannins that convey personality and elegance.
Excellent in combination with lamb with herbs and ossobuco, it is also suitable as an accompaniment for risotto.
