Description
Barbaresco Pio Cesare is a classic-style wine obtained from a careful selection of Nebbiolo grapes from its own vineyards located between Treiso and San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, in the heart of the Barbaresco DOCG appellation area.
The grapes arrive in the cellar at the perfect degree of ripeness and the must ferments in steel, macerating on the skins for about 30 days. The wine rests for 30 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels, for a small part in barrique.
Intense ruby red color, it shows off elegant and fine aromas of ripe red fruit and spices on the nose. On the palate there is a good structure and concentration, animated by well integrated tannins.
Excellent with first courses with meat sauce, it goes well with aged cheeses and game.
