Description

Barbaresco Martinenga is produced by Marchesi di Gresy on the Martinenga estate, the most important of the 4 estates together with Monte Aribaldo, Monte Colombo and La Serra, all located in the Langhe or Monferrato and covering 45 hectares of vineyards.

The 100% Nebbiolo grapes are carefully selected by hand before proceeding with the red vinification with maceration with emerged cap at a controlled temperature for 8-10 days and with submerged campello for 20-30 days. The aging takes place partly in French oak barriques (12 months), partly in Slavonian oak barrels (6 months).

Garnet red in color, the nose expresses aromas of plum and cherry together with notes of mint, blond tobacco and dried flowers. The sip is of great structure, with fine and elegant tannins.

It goes very well with egg pasta with meat sauce, braised meats and semi-mature cheeses.
