Description
Founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja, the winery of the same name is probably the symbol of the Langhe, with all its history and the legacy it delivers to posterity. Led with passion, strength and tenacity by Angelo Gaja together with his sons, Gaia, Rossana and Giovanni, it is one of the most important companies for the production of Barbaresco.
A bright example of this is the Barbaresco Docg, born in the Municipality of Barbaresco, from a rigorous selection of pure Nebbiolo grapes from 14 vineyards. After an exclusively manual harvest, the wine ages for 12 months in barrique, 12 months in large barrels and a further 12 months in bottle.
It is a wine that amazes like few others, the banner of the famous winery, which pursues its traditionalist ideal even in wines, without renouncing the most modern and avant-garde equipment in the cellar.
A Barbaresco that stands out for an intense garnet red color and that enchants the nose with distinctive aromas of citrus fruits, wild strawberries, elderflowers and white pepper. As seductive and fascinating as few can be, it wraps the palate in a full-bodied and elegant way, with silky tannins and a long and persistent finish. For its extraordinary aging potential, which can last up to 40 years, it is the ideal wine to capture a memory, for an important gift, to seal the magic of a moment.
Its splendid organoleptic profile, which adds an important element to the history of Italian enology, makes it the ideal wine to pair with game and red meat dishes, as well as game and aged cheeses.
