Description
The Barbaresco of Castello di Verduno was born on the hills of Piedmont.
It is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, harvested by hand and carefully selected choosing only the best bunches. The grapes underwent a maceration of about 20 days with periodic manual punching down. The wine underwent an aging of 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and 3 months in steel containers, followed by 14 months in bottle.
This Barbaresco is characterized by a ruby red color, typical of the Nebbiolo variety. On the nose it is fresh, with hints of red fruits and floral notes, perfectly in harmony with the nuances deriving from aging in large barrels. On the palate it has a pleasant acidity, a pleasant final tannin and a good persistence.
Due to its characteristics, this wine is perfect to accompany tasty meat dishes such as roasts and braised meats. Ideal in combination with game and poultry, it is also recommended with seasoned and spicy cheeses.
