Description
The Alpha Estate Tannat is made with 100% grapes in the northwestern area of Macedonia.
After manual harvesting, the grapes are de-stemmed and lightly pressed for a first cold maceration. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and the wine remains in contact with the fine lees for at least 12 months. This is followed by 18 months of ageing in French oak barrels and another 18 months of ageing in bottle before being marketed.
Opaque ruby red, it has intense and fine scents that refer to cassis, leather, black fruits, coconut and sweet spices. On the palate it has a full body with soft tannins, great drinkability and a return of delicately spicy notes that anticipate a long and persistent finish.
Suitable for all red meats cooked on the barbecue and finished with spicy sauces.
