Description

An Amarone that is born in the vineyards of the Tregnago Estate, in the upper Val d'Illasi, Mezzane di Sopra and the Tregnago hills and from a fine blend of traditional Veronese grapes, Corvina between 55% and 65% Corvinone between 25% and 35% Rondinella between 5% and 15%. The marly calcareous soil gives the wine character and personality.

The harvest usually begins in the second week of September. The bunches are carefully selected by expert hands and placed in the special boxes, waiting for the Appassimento, in the Tregnago drying room. During the Appassimento the grapes stay in the loft for a few months in the winter, during which the grapes acquire aromas, colours and above all a conspicuous concentration of sugars. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, after the grapes have been destemmed and crushed. The alcoholic fermentation lasts about 20 days at a controlled temperature of 20-24 °C. Ageing takes place in barriques and tonneaux and lasts about 24 months. After a careful evaluation, the blend is then made in steel, where the wine will remain for about 6 months. In the last phase, bottle aging takes place for at least 12 months.

Intense ruby red in colour, it releases aromas of ripe fruit, cherries in alcohol and intense spicy notes on the nose. On the palate it is warm and powerful, with refined and round tannins.

The most suitable wine to combine with braised meats, stewed meat and game, will be perfect in combination with a platter of aged cheeses.
