Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Lilium Est of Tenuta Sant'Antonio is born in vineyards located in Monti Garbi, in the Veronese municipality of Mezzane di Sotto.
It is obtained from a skilful blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta grapes, harvested and carefully selected in plateaux, in at least two steps, and left to dry for 3 months. Fermentation takes place in wooden barrels for 20-25 days. After natural malolactic fermentation in tonneaux, the wine ages for 3 years in new wooden barrels, and for further 4 years in glass, before being marketed.
It is characterized by an impenetrable ruby red color. The nose opens with balsamic notes, almost iodized, which open with aromas of ripe cherry, plum and small berries, then giving space to notes of star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, vanilla and ginger. On the palate it is dry, soft and warm, pleasantly balanced and sapid, with a fine and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany grilled, braised and roasted red meats, this red wine is ideal in combination with game, both feather and fur, and aged cheeses.
