Description
Rhetico Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico is an Italian wine that reflects the ancient tradition of Valpolicella. Made up of Corvina and Rondinella grapes, it comes from vineyards located in Negrar della Valpolicella, at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level, with south-west exposure. The marly limestone soil gives the wine unique characteristics.
The grapes are harvested by hand and dried for approximately 120 days. After a soft pressing at the end of January, the alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for three weeks. Subsequently, the wine is aged in wood and cement for a total period of approximately 24 months, followed by a further refinement in bottle for 12 months.
This Amarone has an intense ruby red color and garnet reflections. The nose offers elegant hints of black cherry, ripe cherry, cocoa and sweet spices. On the palate it is full and full-bodied, supported by good acidity and a highly persistent finish.
Ideal to accompany roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses, enhancing each dish with its complexity and depth of flavour.
