Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Campo Leon by Ilatium Morini was born in the Illasi valley, in the province of Verona. The company is based in Mezzane di Sotto.
It is made up of the classic blend of the area: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. The grapes are destemmed and crushed, to then be vinified with cold maceration and fermentation for 20-30 days, with frequent pumping over. The wine ages in French and American oak barrels of different sizes for about 30 months.
Ruby red in colour, the nose is intense and complex, with aromas of ripe cherry, nutmeg, cocoa, vanilla and black pepper. The sip is warm and soft, with elegant tannins and a persistent finish.
Excellent in combination with baked pasta, red meats and roasted game.
