Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Campo dei Gigli di Sant'Antonio comes from vineyards located in Monte Garbi, in the Veronese municipality of Mezzane di Sotto.
It is mainly produced with Corvina and Corvinone grapes, and with Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. After drying for 3 months, the fermentation takes place naturally in open French oak tonneaux, in air-conditioned rooms. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 36 months in tonneaux, before being bottled.
It shows an impenetrable ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose opens with intense aromas of wild fruits and woody touches, enriched with hints of licorice and black pepper, tobacco and chocolate, with slight mineral notes. On the palate it is balanced and robust, with excellent persistence.
Perfect to accompany grilled red meats, roast beef and braised meats, this Amarone is ideal in combination with game, mature cheeses and dried fruit. Ideal as a meditation wine.
