Description

Amarone della Valpolicella Conte Gastone is produced by Massimago, a Venetian winery founded in 1883 by the Cracco family and led since 2003 by Camilla Rossi Chauvenet. The company is located in Mezzane, in the province of Verona.

It consists of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, left to dry in the loft for approx. 3 months. Fermentation follows with cold maceration for 5 days, in steel tanks. Aging takes place in French oak barriques and tonneaux for approx. 2 years, followed by 12 months in the bottle.

Dark ruby red in colour, the nose has aromas of plum, cherry, cloves and black pepper. The sip is rich and velvety, with a balanced finish.

Ideal with grilled red meats, spicy cuisine and seasoned and blue cheeses.
