Description
Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Montefante by Farina is a wine of great elegance, produced on the hills of Valpolicella Classica. The grapes come from a single vineyard located at 350 meters above sea level, where the calcareous soil stratified with basalts and the favorable microclimate contribute to the richness and structure of this wine. The varieties used include Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Dindarella.
After manual harvesting, the grapes are subjected to a natural drying process for about 90 days, losing 40% of their weight. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, with cold macerations followed by a long alcoholic fermentation and a post-fermentation maceration. Subsequently, the wine ages for 24 months in barriques, 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and a further six months in the bottle.
With an intense garnet red color, this Amarone presents aromas of raspberry jam, blackberries and plums in alcohol, enriched with spices such as pepper and cinnamon. On the palate it is complex and harmonious, with an exceptional roundness and sweet tannins.
It pairs beautifully with red meats, game and mature or spicy cheeses, but can also be enjoyed on its own, especially with artisanal chocolate.
