Description
Corte Bravi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico originates in vineyards located in the locality of Gargagnago, in the province of Verona.
It comes from a selection of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Molinara and Rondinella grapes, left to dry in wooden boxes for 3 months. Once pressed, the grapes are left to cold macerate for 10 days, followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. A second hot maceration follows and aging for 3 years in French oak barrels. The wine is bottled without being filtered, and refines in the bottle for another year.
The color is ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose there are aromas of cherries in alcohol, dried plums, spices and notes of chocolate. The sip is intense, enveloping, with soft and elegant tannins.
Suggested as an accompaniment to important cooking of red meats, such as stews and stewed meats, but also with aged cheeses.
