Description
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Gerardo Cesari originates in vineyards located in the municipalities of Negrar, Marano di Valpolicella, Sant'Ambrogio, Fumane and San Pietro in Cariano, within the historic area of Valpolicella.
It is mainly produced with Corvina Veronese grapes and with Rondinella and Rossignola grapes, manually harvested in crates and left to dry in a loft to increase sugar concentration. Fermentation takes place, with maceration in contact with the skins for 20-30 days, in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is subjected to a maturation period of 36 months, 12 of which in Slavonian oak barrels and a small part in French oak barriques and tonneaux.
In the glass, it presents an intense purple red color. On the nose, it opens with a complex bouquet, featuring notes of cherry and plum jam, along with hints of vanilla and toast. On the palate, it is full and harmonious, balanced, warm, and persistent.
Perfect for accompanying game, grilled and stewed meat, this Amarone is ideal as a meditation wine.
