Description

The Alta Langa Extra Brut by Cocchi is an organic cuvée that originates from the combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown in the same vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. The unique terroir, characterized by calcareous and marl soils, western exposure, and high altitude, allows for the production of high-quality grapes that express a perfect balance between freshness and structure.

The vinification follows the Cocchi style, with separate pressing and fermentation for each grape variety in stainless steel vats, without the use of wood. The selection of the best fermented fractions occurs without clarifying agents, ensuring the expressive purity of the wine. The cuvée ages on the lees for 46 months before disgorging, resulting in extraordinary finesse and complexity.

Visually, it appears bright and crystalline, with an elegant straw color featuring greenish reflections. On the nose, it offers a refined bouquet, with floral notes of hawthorn and millefoglie, followed by more mature hints of broom and acacia. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and clarity, with citrus notes of lemon, grapefruit, and pomelo, accompanied by a slight calcareous salinity and hints of white pepper. The finish is long and harmonious, with nuances of Mediterranean herbs and nori seaweed.

Perfectly pairs with raw fish, shellfish, and soft cheeses.
