Description
The Balsamic Vinegar of Modena 5 Gold Medals belongs to the Historical Collection of Acetaia Giusti, with labels whose design dates back to the early 1900s which show the awards obtained up to that time in the style of the time. The collection includes a series of balsamic vinegars classified with a progressive number of medals, selected from those achieved in the Universal Expositions of the late 19th century.
Also called Banda Rossa for being one of the flagship products of the vinegar factory, it was the gift that the founder Giuseppe Giusti reserved for members of his family. Composed of cooked grape must to which already aged balsamic vinegar is added, which in turn ages in batteries of ancient casks dating back to 1700-1800. Withdrawal is limited to a small amount only once a year.
It is characterized by a brown colour, enlivened by a scent of plum and black cherries, in which a sweet spice makes its way, conferred by the very ancient precious woods in which it was aged. Full-bodied and thick on the palate but also complex and rich from an aromatic point of view.
Indicated on fresh pasta, risotto and sliced meat, it can also be used with aged cheeses and ice cream.
