Description
Rum El Dorado 15 Year Old Special Reserve is made by Demerara Distillers in the state of Guyana, on the banks of the Demerara River, an area recognized by experts as the cradle of highly prized rum, so much so that it is considered a category in itself. This rum, which is a blend of rums obtained from carefully selected sugar cane molasses, aged up to 25 years and aged for a minimum of 15 years, is considered as the "Flag" of the Demerara Distillery, and has received awards and prizes for many many years.
Distilled in wooden Coffey column (formerly Enmore), double wooden Pot Still (formerly Port Mourant) and single wooden Pot still (formerly Versailles), aged in ex bourbon barrels.
In the glass it stands out for its brilliant, intense and luminous walnut color. It has intense aromas of dried apricot and prunes in jam, exotic fruit in syrup and sweet vanilla spices, together with darker hints of tobacco, leather and black pepper. The gustatory impact is intense, full-bodied and elegant, very balanced between the softness of the fruit and the gustatory structure, enveloping and pressing in the aromatic references, with a very persistent finish of coffee.
This rum is perfect for long and relaxing moments of meditation.
