Puligny-montrachet
Puligny-Montrachet AOC appellation is among the most famous and well-known of the Côte de Beaune. It is located between Meursault to the north and Chassagne-Montrachet to the south, in one of the most prized areas of Burgundy. Puligny-Montrachet AOC hosts two different areas in its territory: Puligny-Montrachet, which covers about a hundred hectares and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, which represents the spearhead of the appellation and which has an area of only one hectare.
The premier crus are found mainly in the hilly area between 270 and 320 meters above sea level, on soils composed of calcareous-clayey marl. The most cultivated grapes in Puligny-Montrachet are the classic ones from Burgundy: pinot noir and chardonnay. The wines express themselves with great elegance and aromatic depth and represent the level of excellence of Burgundy production.
