RONN WIEGAND RECOMMENDS:

Domestic Budget Wines
that Won't Break the Bank

Tapped out after the holidays? This month some quality wines, none over $20 a bottle. I know you may have heard what I am about to say before, but it bears repeating: There are many more top wine values available in the marketplace than ever before. Below are some of them, for their respective types and price points.

It also bears repeating that some of the best-known large wine producers, whose labels may be quite familiar to you, also many make excellent wines. Don’t overlook them!

In this column, all the wines are from the USA, including 4 Pinot Gris/Grigios, 3 Sauvignon Blancs, 2 Rieslings, 4 Merlots, 2 Petite Sirahs, and 1 Pinot Noir. I hope you enjoy this month’s selections. Many more to come in 2007!
